*My BOYD Connection Associated families: Hughes, Traynor, Pennock, Finnigan .... and many more!! The exact birth date and place where my g-g-grandfather,*Henry Boyd was born has not yet been established but my estimated guess would be about 1844, and according to family, he was born somewhere in Ireland. His first two children's birth records state that he married Margaret Cunning 1863 in County Down, N. Ireland, and that he was a coal miner. His second two children's birth records state that he married Margaret Connor 1865. Further research is necessary to determine if Margaret Cunning and Margaret Connor were actually the same person. The family moved to Scotland sometime between 1865 and 1868. Children of Henry Boyd and Margaret Cunning/Connor: 1) Christine Boyd born 1865 in Grey Abby, County Down, N. Ireland. Christine married Michael Hughes and they stayed in Scotland. They had a least two children. 2) Margaret Boyd born 1868 in Whifflet, Middle District of Old Monkland Parish, Lanark County, Scotland. She became a nun in the order of The Little Sisters of The Poor, and took the name Sister Estelle Elizabeth. She died 1950; and is buried in a little cemetery on the property of The Little Sisters of The Poor, Holy Family Residence in Lackawana Co; PA. 3)* Matilda Josephine Boyd (my g-grandmother) born 1871 in Coatbridge (Rosehall), Eastern District of Old Monkland Parish, Lanark County, Scotland. She became a teacher, and married William John Traynor 1898 in New Castle-on-Tyne, England. Matilda and William had at least five children (possibly seven) while in Scotland: Margaret Mary, Maria Elizabeth (*my grandmother), William John, Christina Louise, and Henry Edward; and two children, Bernard Joseph and Matilda Josephine after they immigrated to the US. Matilda Josephine BOYD Traynor died 1944 in Mahoning County, Ohio. 4) William Boyd born 1874 Haywood Colliery, Parish of Carnwath, Lanark County, Scotland. He married (1) Margaret Anne Traynor 1901 in New Castle, England. He married (2) Lillian Francis Pennock 1938 in Mahoning Co; Ohio. William died 1953 in Trumbull County, Ohio. William Boyd and Margaret Traynor had one son, Harry Traynor Boyd; there were no children from his marriage to Lillian F. Pennock. Son of William Boyd and Margaret Anne Traynor: Harry Traynor Boyd born 1903 Motherwell, Parish of Dalziel, Lanark County, Scotland; died 1965 in Mahoning Co; Ohio. He married Mary (Mae) Finnigan 1930 in Mahoning Co; Ohio. Mary (Mae) died 2001 in Orange Co, FL. Two children.
